The squeaky sound can easily be solved by lubricating the metal spring in the hinge with penetrating oil, or Teflon spray. A drop of olive oil even might be sufficient.

Clean the clasp of your Touch Bin lid with hot, soapy water. After cleaning the clasp, lubricate the clasp with silicone spray, penetrating oil (e.g. WD40) or Teflon spray. If this doesn’t solve the problem, please use our contact form and our support team will get back you shortly

It’s best to clean your brushed steel products with a micro-fibre cloth and a rvs cleaner. Olive oil (just a drop) on a dry cloth removes marks easily. Please note: never use chlorine, chlorinated, aggressive or abrasive cleaning products.

There are a few things to keep in mind for the maintenance of the wooden products:

  • never put them in the dishwasher or microwave
  • never soak or immerse in water, just wipe them clean with wet cloth
  • drastic temperature change will deform your wooden product
  • store wooden products in a dry place and prevent contact from direct sunshine or heat

The Brabantia kitchen knives can rust if the chromium oxide layer on your knife is damaged. The chromium oxide layer recovers itself. But when the damaged parts come into contact with water before they had time to recover, rust may occur. Damages may occur due to: frequent use, detergents, cleaning products, juices and acids.

Herewith we would love to share the four main tips with you:

  • wash your knives immediately after use and dry them straightaway
  • make sure your knives don’t come into contact with iron or silver while they’re in the dishwasher
  • make sure your wet knife does not get in contact with a stainless steel worktop, sink or other steel stuff
  • sharpen your blade frequently

Rust on your knife? Rub it off with a soft polishing cloth and a special cleaning product for stainless steel. Or put a drop of vinegar on a soft sponge and rub the stains.
